Which Kitchen Backspash Tile Murals Will You Choose?

Today is the day! You are going shopping for the back splash in your kitchen, which is being remodeled in the very near future! Some of the things you must consider when choosing the kitchen backsplash tile murals, are where are you putting the murals, what kind of material, any special patterns and whether to use actual photos or the gallery of pictures. The task won't be easy, but whatever your choice is, you will enjoy it for years to come!

Materials should be your first thought! Do you want slate, natural stone, metal or stainless steel? How much space will you cover and which walls will the murals be on? If the murals will be behind the stove top or the sink, you want it very washable. You should probably consider a material that is non porous and easy to clean. If you are putting murals on all of your back splashes, you might consider stainless steel sheets instead of tiles. Regardless of what material you choose, there will be lots of ideas and patterns out there too!

You can purchase pre made murals in tiles that are put together on your wall. These are the most common kitchen splashback tile murals and the easiest to create. It is almost like putting a jigsaw puzzle together on a wall. This method won't be as unique as other methods, but will leave a nice touch to your kitchen decor. If you are very patient, an artist and know how to lay tile, you could choose tiles in your own design to create a very unique mural. This would involve careful measurements, deciding on patterns, a "practice" run of putting it all together and using a photo of the practice run to help you finish the final product. This method would leave you with a beautiful piece of art and a guaranteed conversation piece in your kitchen.

Being an artist and not having the tile laying experience would make you a good candidate for using a stainless steel sheet and special paint to create your own mural instead of the kitchen backsplash tile murals we have talked about here. If you have a favorite pattern design or a gallery of photos to choose from, you can paint your own mural. After you paint on the steel, you would put a special coating over the artwork to make it washable and hopefully indestructible. Every time you look at it or show it off, you will know that it is your creation!

I can lay tiles but my wife wants to paint the mural herself. Can I find some tiles for that and how would those be finished in order to be durable and easy to clean?

Which types of tiles are easiest to clean? I like to cook but I hate to clean. Anything that I can do to reduce time spent cleaning my kitchen is well worth the cost.

I have no experience in installing tile but I am an artist. The stainless steel would be an easier solution for me to go with because it's so easy to paint and that I can do.

My family is very busy and we don't get to see my mother very much. I think she would love a backsplash tile mural with pictures of her family to cheer her up. I would love to get custom photo tiles made for her.

I think these murals would be a great idea for my restaurant's kitchen. It would really spice up the look of the place and I think it would impress my customers. Ambiance in a diner is very important.

Slate is a great stone to work with in a backsplash - I prefer this over the metal types of splashbacks as they just look more natural - stainless steel is modern and easy to clean - but not aesthetically pleasing..
